Your margin depends on the dollar

You quote in March, buy in June and pay in September. The dollar that decides whether the deal was good isn't the one on the trading day — it's the one on a date that hasn't arrived yet. Today, protecting yourself across that gap means choosing between three narrow doors.

01

The bank wants a relationship

Traditional bank hedging requires an approved credit line, hard collateral and account history. It's a product designed for the clients the bank already knows — which leaves much of the mid-market out before the first conversation.

02

The remittance fintech wants a review

The spread is wider and, even so, there's still a credit review before closing any operation. You trade cost for access and keep waiting for approval.

03

Buying dollars locks up your cash

The credit-free alternative is to tie up 100% of the amount by buying dollars spot. It works, and it's expensive: capital that no longer buys inventory, pays suppliers or runs the business.

The three doors solve the same problem by charging the same thing: your credit, or your cash.

Four steps, no credit review

Step 01

Request a proposal

Tell us the amount, the direction and the maturities. The desk reviews the request and invites your company, by email, to the Hed.global dashboard.

Step 02

Accept and send the collateral

15% of the amount you want to protect, in USDT, on one of the main supported networks (check availability). Not 100%: the rest of your capital stays where it should be, working.

Step 03

The rate locks when the collateral arrives

Reference rate plus the cost of the tenor, set the moment the deposit is confirmed on-chain, within the band you accepted. From then on, you track the position and the collateral level on the dashboard until maturity.

Step 04

Settlement on the date

At maturity, settlement is financial, in USDT, for the difference between the locked rate and that day's reference rate. No repricing, no surprise on the statement.

Less capital tied up

The question that matters isn't which asset serves as collateral, but how much of your money sits idle to protect the same exposure. Comparing the three alternatives by the same yardstick:

Hed.global — margin in USDT15%
Bank hedge — collateral in local currency~20%
Buying dollars spot — no hedge, full capital100%

The 20% figure for the bank hedge is a reference, not a market average — the collateral required on each operation varies with tenor, counterparty and profile. At Hed.global, the collateral is 15% of the protected amount.

Why USDT

Settlement in synthetic dollars, 24 hours a day, without depending on banking clearing hours or a local holiday. The collateral stays denominated in the same currency as the exposure it protects, which removes an entire layer of mismatch.

Forward rate plus service fee

01
Forward rate

The same market component embedded in any hedge, whether a bank, a broker or us. Calibrated by real observed quotes, not a textbook formula.

02
Hed.global service fee
1.25% p.a.

1.25% per year, proportional to the contract tenor, with a minimum of 0.25% per operation.

03
Collateral in USDT
15%

15% of the protected amount. It's not a cost: it's returned at settlement, with the operation's result added or deducted.

There is no opening fee, no maintenance fee and no spread embedded outside the forward rate. If a number shows up in your quote, it's on one of these three lines.

Who's on the other side

In a bank hedge, the bank takes credit risk on you. Here, the collateral solves that side — and shifts the question to the other one: who custodies the collateral, and what happens to it.

01

Who we are

Hed.global is built by a senior team from traditional finance (TradFi) and blockchain, backed by an established institution in the sector. We pair the discipline of financial markets with the transparency of on-chain infrastructure — building solid DeFi for companies, with D+0 settlement and 24/7 operation.

02

Where the collateral sits

The collateral goes in USDT, on one of the main supported networks, to the Hed.global collateral address shown in the proposal — which confirms the network for your operation; every deposit is verified on-chain.

03

Verifiable trail

Collateral on a public blockchain means the balance's existence can be verified independently, at any time, without relying on a statement we issue about ourselves. We also offer a dashboard for monitoring.

04

Compliance

Onboarding with full KYC and KYB and AML screening before the first operation.

Who it makes sense for

Makes sense
01Imports inputs or goods for resale with dollar payment on term
02Exports and receives in dollars with a predictable date
03Has exposure from USD 20,000 per operation
04Has no approved derivatives line, or one smaller than your exposure
05Prefers to keep working capital circulating rather than tie it up in spot dollars
Probably not for you
01One-off, low-value exposure where the operational cost isn't justified
02Cash with no room for a possible margin call
03Looking for directional speculation on the dollar — this is protection, not a position

Frequently asked questions

No. We guide the conversion during onboarding, and it can be done starting from your local currency.
